Classic Kewpee cooks up doll-icious eats
Kewpee -- also called "The Kewpee" -- is a Racine dining gem featuring great grill food and 300-400 Kewpie dolls. Somehow, despite all the dolls, Kewpee gets away without being the least bit creepy. It's bright and upbeat and almost always packed with a variety of customers from all walks of life.

Solly's is a burger-lover's heaven
Solly's is, as the name would perhaps indicate, unpretentious, to the point and casual. Diners here can gobble up their butter burgers at tiny two-tops or take a seat at the canary yellow, figure-eight shaped counter.

Well-branded Patty Burger offers a good alternative
In early January, Bryan Majewski brought Patty Burger, 1952 N. Farwell Ave., a popular Chicago Adams Street venue, to Milwaukee’s East Side, and plopped her down kitty-corner to Comet Café.

Red Robin restaurant sure to please everyone in the nest
Greenfield's Red Robin is one of handful of eateries in Brew City that truly falls into the "kid friendly" category. The restaurant offers free balloons, colorful décor and an extensive menu with munchables that will appeal to mama birds, papa birds and baby birds alike.

Mason Street Grill's bar a great place to eat
If you haven't been to this new Pfister Hotel restaurant, I'd highly suggest it. The regular dining room also is very nice as is the traditional bar area. Yet, its food bar stands out.

Reader poll
Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
