Return to glory for City Hall
When it was built in 1893, Milwaukee's City Hall stood as a testament to the city's emerging status as a major metropolis. But after 100 years of wind, rain, snow, ice and other effects of time, the landmark needed some major attention. Three years after a massive renovation project began, the scaffolding was taken down, the restored clock was lit and the famous bell sounded once again.

Brace yourself: 2008 Property Tax bills are coming
Milwaukee City Treasurer Wayne F. Whittow announced today that his office would be mailing more than 165,000 combined property tax bills to city taxpayers.Whitlow expects most taxpayers to receive their bills on Saturday or Monday. Taxpayers that do not receive property tax bills by Wednesday are encouraged to contact the Customer Services Division at (414) 286-2240 and request a duplicate.

Saturation patrols likely to continue
When Milwaukee police started saturation patrols to crack down on drug dealing, concerns were raised as to how the city could afford to pay for it, both in manpower and in dollars and cents.
