Springsteen and band deliver an unforgettable night
Four songs into their show Sunday night at the Bradley Center, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed the classic album "Born to Run" in its entirety. At the close of "Jungleland," the group could have called it quits and most in the crowd would have gone home happy. The Boss kept the highlights coming in a set that stretched nearly three hours.

Springsteen treats Chicago to 'a show for the ages'
When Springsteen and friends visited the United Center Tuesday night in Chicago, age was an unavoidable sub-plot in a spectacular show. The crowd was a mix of mostly baby boomers, some with kids in tow, and Gen Y hipsters who may have discovered the band from parents, aunts, uncles, older siblings or the most recent Super Bowl and found a new hero in substitute drummer Jay Weinberg, the 19-year-old son of Max Weinberg.

"Heroes" request musical devotion from disciples
It's hard to believe that it's nearly 15 years since War Child assembled the "Help" compilation, which had some brilliant moments. War Child -- an organization that aids kids affected by war -- now dishes up an, arguably, even better record in "Heroes" (Astralwerks), which takes a bass-ackward approach to the covers album.

Springsteen's latest "Dream" needs more work
Compared to what most bands are putting out these days, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's "Working on a Dream" is a solid effort. By Springsteen's own lofty standard, though, the record is a bit of a disappointment. There are some strong moments, to be sure, but the lack of a unifying theme and some repetition from the band's last two records reduce the impact of the work.

Our favorite Milwaukee concerts
As OnMilwaukee.com's Julie Lawrence quips, picking a favorite concert of all time can be like picking a favorite child, pet or Radiohead album. So, don't be surprised that as the editorial staff rocks its favorites below, most will have trouble narrowing it to a single night with a single band. We think you'll find our picks interesting and we hope you'll add your favorites using the talkback feature at the bottom of the story.
