Brookfield diners fired up about Stir Crazy
A week before its grand opening, the proprietors of the Stir Crazy Asian Grill were thrilled about the restaurant's location adjacent to Brookfield Square. Two months later, it's easy to see why. With solid food and a lively atmosphere, the restaurant has been drawing steady crowds for lunch and dinner in a corridor that includes Claim Jumper, Mitchell's Fish Market, Bravo! Cucina Italiana, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Houlihan's.

I have been unimpressed as a general rule with the recent years’ outcropping of Milwaukee chain and chain-like steakhouses that fit the mold of an old boys’ club. But OSI's Fleming's, in Brookfield, is a different cut.

Milwaukee's malls guide
Ah, the malls. Just thinking about them makes you crave a soft pretzel and wonder how the escalator stairs unfold. Milwaukee has a myriad of malls, some booming and some up-and-coming, but all of them allow us the luxury of rain-or-shine shopping.

Personal services can simplify a hectic life
There's a certain thrill in finding the perfect pair of shoes or cheering up a friend with a bouquet of flowers. Often there aren't enough hours in the day to enjoy these simple thrills. But personal shoppers can help, and they're popping up to get the job done.

Reader poll
Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
