Cafe Corazón pumps new life into NoLo
After more than a year of buzz, Cafe Corazón quietly opened last weekend. Currently, only the bar is operating, but at the end of the month, George and Wendy Mireles -- who own the cafe with John Kelly -- say they will serve food, too. Corazón offers quality, affordable food to the north end of Riverwest, referred to as "NoLo" (North of Locust).

Blueberries cooks up a new kind of Racine breakfast
Greasy, high-fat meals are an occasional treat, but certainly not the way to start your day on a regular basis. This is where Blueberries, a new breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant at 522 6th St. in downtown Racine, fills a void. Owner Lauren Bell opened her small, cash-only café in summer 2008 as a refreshing alternative to the city's usual players.

Not everyone can stomach pizza for breakfast, yet it seems most humans appreciate the "breakfast for dinner" concept. Sometimes referred to as "brinner," breakfast for dinner has become more talked about in the last few years even though it's been around forever.

Bitchin' brunch at the 'Mino
Of course, I've been to the Palomino for dinner, drinks and Packers games about a zillion times. But until yesterday, I never tried their Sunday brunch.
