Through the years the Bicycle Collective, which is now a co-op, has seen hundreds of volunteers, if not more, come and go. But two years into its existence the Bicycle Collective found its most dedicated volunteer: Maurice "Pops" Scruggs.

This week UWM has been celebrating Earth Week. Not content to spend a mere 24 hours honoring the planet we call home, the university has been discussing our addiction to plastics, our dilemmas with clean water, displaying environmental art projects in the Harambee neighborhood, recycled fashion and much, much more.

Truly Spoken Cycles rides into Riverwest
Earlier this month, after years of riding his bike for transportation and recreation, Aytan Luck opened Truly Spoken Cycles, 833 E. Center St., in the space that formerly housed the kids' shop, Mia Putia. Truly Spoken offers bike repair and features a small selection of used bikes for sale.
