Exactly one year ago, OnMilwaukee.com publisher Andy Tarnoff watched FM 102.1's Jon Adler emcee the Storm the Bastille race to kick off my favorite French-themed Downtown festival. Jimmy John's Freaky Fast Sandwich Making and Eating Contest hits the festival this Saturday to pit three of the fastest sandwich makers in town against three World Class Major Eaters. Eaters include the No. 2 eater in the world, Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti plus Kaczkowski, who recently won our local amateur competition.

Thanks to a $1 million grant from Kohl's Department Stores, the Milwaukee Art Museum recently became even more family friendly. Kohl's Art Generation is a studio and gallery located inside the museum that provides art education and art making for children and their parents.
