Milwaukee loses another art gallery
In January we were saddened to ring in a new year with the news that Spackle Gallery was showing its final exhibit. And now, less than two weeks away from Paper Boat Gallery's last day (May 31), we've caught word that Armoury Gallery, 1718 N. 1st St., closed with the end of its last show on May 2.

Winter Gallery Nights highlights
Gallery Night began 21 years ago as a small art event but has spent the last two decades growing into a citywide affair that takes on many shapes, forms and media. As always, Gallery Night and Day happen quarterly, and this winter's edition takes place Friday, Jan. 16. With nearly 50 venues participating across Milwaukee, it's difficult to know where to begin.

Green Gallery expands east with a second location
In 2004 Molly Snyder Edler introduced us to Riverwest's Green Gallery. And while the original Green Gallery continues to promote experimental programming at 631 E. Center St. -- Milwaukee filmmaker Mark Borchardt's photo exhibit, "Along the Way" is showing currently -- Riepenhoff is expanding his reach with the opening of the Green Gallery East, 1500 N. Farwell Ave.
