Bay View Anodyne is off to a promising start
The new Anodyne has only been open for a few weeks, and Tuesday morning I stopped in for the first time. It still feels really new -- a little spartan and maybe even a bit cavernous. It lacks the hominess of its Brady Street counterpart, though I have faith it'll get there.

Art Bar branches out with coffee, bakery
Since the beginning, Don Krause intended to open Art Bar during the day as a café, it just took a couple of years to activate the plan. But last week, the popular Riverwest bar opened at 6 a.m., ready to caffeinate instead of inebriate its customers.

Leto pops in for some Milwaukee coffee
Actor Jared Leto, ("Alexander," "Panic Room," "Requiem for a Dream," "Girl, Interrupted," "Fight Club," and other flicks) stopped into Anodyne Coffee Roasters, 1208 E. Brady St. before his band Thirty Seconds to Mars opened for Audioslave Friday night at The Rave.
