Plenty of blame to go around for Packers struggles
At 4-4, the Packers are far from out of playoff competition. But at the same time, Green Bay is far from being a legitimate contender. There's plenty of reasons and plenty of blame to go around, but ultimately, the root of the problems can be found on the sideline and inside the big, corner office at 1265 Lombardi Ave.

Packers point: In victory, Favre proves he's the one
If there is anybody left who thinks that the 2009 Packers, or the 2008 Packers, or maybe even the 2010 Packers are better with Aaron Rodgers than Brett Favre, let them stand up and be counted, on the fingers of one hand. There is no longer a shadow of doubt. One is a classy, savvy expert with a full house, aces over jacks. The other is sitting at the table with a pair of sixes and not much bluff.

Green Bay Replay: Packers 21, Bears 15
The giddiness that permeated the Packers' preseason gave way to the bruising reality of the regular season. Fortunately for coach Mike McCarthy and a sellout crowd of 70,920, quarterback Aaron Rodgers hooked up with wide receiver Greg Jennings for a touchdown with 1 minute, 11 seconds left that erased a handful of mistakes and left the home team feeling good about its prospects for 2009.

Milwaukee Talks: Packers wideout Greg Jennings
If cooler evening weather and back-to-school sales didn't give you a hint, here is a sure sign that summer is heading into the home stretch: the Packers begin practice on Saturday in Green Bay. Last week, during his final days of vacation before camp, wide receiver Greg Jennings visited Milwaukee for some promotional appearances. He was moving pretty quickly, just like he does when running a route over the middle, but OnMilwaukee.com spent a few minutes talking about the start of camp, last season and his off-season workouts with another elite NFL receiver.

A sure sign of summer: The Packers start practice
Memorial Day is in the books. The temperature still hasn't hit 90 degrees. The Brewers are playing wonderful and exciting baseball and they might even keep it up all year. But, none of that really matters because today is the start of the Packers' season.
That's right. Organized team activities begin today at Lambeau Field. OTA's are a sure sign that hitting hard for real is right around the corner. And who in the world says that the seasons for sports teams are too long?
