Thomas Lane recognized at the beginning of its musical journey
Milwaukee band Thomas Lane hopes to be celebrating after Monday's WAMI Awards ceremony. The band has been nominated for two group awards, New Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year, as well as two individual awards, Drummer of the Year and Bassist of the Year.

Ill Groove Movement rocks to a different tune

Blue Background juggles sexism and school to stay strong
It's still tough to be a woman in music. Just ask Blue Background. Sarah Mick and Maggie Tielker are constantly scrutinized for being in a female-fronted band, but the hassle that comes their way is merely a blip in what has been a hectic year.
