We like versatility in the OnMilwaukee.com editorial office. So, we were duly impressed when Scarlett Johansson's collection of Tom Waits covers was, well, impressive. Also this week, we're high on learning things from YouTube, Taco Tuesday at Koppa's, a politically-charged and hilarious TV show, a creepy crime drama and a classic Paul Newman movie.

Caroline's Jazz Club an intimate music hideaway
There is no mistaking Caroline's, 401 S. 2nd St., as anything less than a classic jazz club. Regular bands like Annie & the Jazz Orphans and the Paul Spencer Band and are the focus of this little club tucked away in Walker's Point.

Jim Jarmusch's "Stranger Than Paradise" -- along with Spike Lee's "She's Gotta Have It" -- was one of THE landmark independent movies of the 1980s, announcing that its director was, without a doubt, a filmmaker to watch.

Where was Rickie Lee Jones last night?
On the one hand, Rickie's rawness is part of her charm, and as fans we are always willing to weather her storms -- but Friday night's performance at the Pabst Theatre took us out too far. The show was simply too dark.
