A plan for digging out the city
Just in time for the first big snow of the year, the Department of Public Works is ready to present its plowing strategy for the coming white season. And it looks like patience will be a mantra for drivers and pedestrians. Aldermen asked DPW to set up a plan after last year's somewhat disjointed approach to plowing.

Alderman proposes higher cab fares
It seems inevitable when gas prices go up cab fares should, too. A proposal by Ald. Jim Bohl suggests cab fares rise 25 cents for every 1/10 of a mile.

Milwaukee used to have taxi stands Downtown, but now there seems to be only one.

Jude case still resounds in City Hall
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett doesn't seem to have won many converts over the city's handling of the Frank Jude beating case, which happened way back in 2004.
