Fossil Poets disc is a team effort
While former Utopia keyboardist Roger Powell and local musician/producer Gary Tanin, also on synthesizer, provide the bedrock of the "Fossil Poets" album, it is Milwaukee guitarist Greg Koch who makes it.

Utopia's Powell taps Milwaukee talent for first CD in 26 years
Former Utopia and David Bowie keyboardist Roger Powell is releasing his first solo disc in 26 years. So, what does that have to do with Milwaukee? “Fossil Poets” -- Powell’s first release since his 1980 “Air Pocket” - was recorded with local producer and musician Gary Tanin and Milwaukee guitarist Greg Koch.

Local engineers agree: mastering gives CDs pro sound
Everyone who looks at the credits on a CD will have seen a line for "mastering." But like the "best boy" and "gaffer" credits at the end of a film, few people know what it really means. Oddly enough, many musicians don't even quite get it.
