Figure skating has all the elements of great sport and theater

Sunday was a great sports television day, but not because of the NFL games or because of golf or surfing or college football or NASCAR. It was a great day because of the International Skating Union broadcast from Skate Canada, featuring what I think is the most beautiful athletic competition around with the best color commentators on TV.


Might we miss winter?

Figure skating headed to Milwaukee

Figure skaters from as far away as Argentina and from the top levels of competition will be in Milwaukee July 10-14, when the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club hosts its premier event at the MSOE Kern Center.


Slice of Ice closing tonight

After getting a bit of an extension, the Slice of Ice in Red Arrow Park is closing for season tonight at 8 p.m.
