Wintry Chicago is fun, if pricey
Recently, my family spent a snowy weekend in Chicago, trying to recreate the holiday magic of my youth when my mom would take us to Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue to see the window displays, lights and skaters.

A real "Silent Night" would have been better
I'm really not an old fogey. Old, maybe. But not a fogey. Yet I feel like one after watching Taylor Swift, the next big thing in country music, last night on the NBC special lighting the Christmas tree at Rockerfeller Center.
