Milwaukee Talks: new OnMilwaukee contributor Carole Caine

If you've lived anywhere in Milwaukee during the last 30 years, you know the voice of Carole Caine. Simply, Caine is a broadcasting legend here in town, serving as one half of the popular Dave & Carole morning show on 96.5 WKLH since the mid '80s. But that abruptly changed when the station didn't renew Caine's contract this summer, and just like that, she was off the air ... gone, but hardly forgotten. An now she's back.


Father-son duo's radio musical uncovers history of "The Ethiopian Ball"

If you happen to be flipping through radio channels tonight, you may hear something pretty unexpected in between all of the usual pop suspects: a harpsichord. No, it's not the product of some new Ă¼ber-hipster band. The harpsichord is actually just one part of a small orchestra performing "The Ethiopian Ball," a new 70-minute radio "comic opera" created by father-son team Eric and Roger Beaumont and premiering on WMSE tonight at 6 p.m.


Hangman Radio haunts the airwaves with new takes on old Milwaukee tales

Considering its reputation as Milwaukee's haunted bar, Shaker's Cigar Bar, located at 422 S. 2nd St., certainly knows a thing or two about old stories coming to life. After giving plenty of historical tours through the years and guiding eager guests to some of the city's ghosts, bar owner Bob Weiss and marketing director Amanda Morden are hoping they've found a new way to resurrect some of Milwaukee's old tales of yore: Hangman Radio.
