Wisconsin's French fry fish
This weekend I will attend my very first smelt fry, although the American Legion Post #82, 435 Lake St., in Port Washington, has been serving up these tiny fish, which you eat whole (minus the heads) for an impressive 56 years.

Port Washington's Wind Rose succeeds in both dinner and drink
There are bars that serve food, and there are restaurants that have bars, and somewhere in between there is the Wind Rose Wine and Martini Bar, 308 Franklin St., Port Washington, which carefully blurs the line between the two.
