Sean Henninger, who owned Times Square Pizza / Atomic Chocolate in Walker's Point, opened Redbar's kitchen and developed the menu. This was unexpected for Henninger, who was scouting locations to reopen his pizza and chocolate place when co-owner Carrie Wisniewski offered him the chance to create food for Redbar.

At the end of 2014, OnMilwaukee.com first reported Carini's, 3468 N. Oakland Ave., installed a new oven - an Acunto Mario - and would serve Neapolitan pizzas in early 2015. OnMilwaukee.com recently stopped in to sample the wood-fired pies.

My first experience with Cranky Al's, 6901 W. North Ave., was during the Chili'n on the Ave event in Wauwatosa a few years back. Since then, I've been hearing about their pizza and their doughnuts - the crullers in particular.
