Oriental celebrates 80 years with silent classic
The Oriental Theatre turned 80 back in July and to celebrate, one of Milwaukee's last remaining movie palaces -- and certainly its most celebrated -- hosts an event on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.

Downer development draws attention of National Trust
The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Midwest Director, Royce A. Yeater sent a letter to the City of Milwaukee’s Plan Commission Wednesday expressing the group’s opposition -- spurred by neighborhood complaints -- to the proposed development of the parking lot at Downer and Belleview.

Expect New Land’s plans for development on Downer Avenue to take another step forward next week when the City Plan Commission holds a public hearing on the zoning of the parking lot on Downer at Belleview Place Monday, April 23 at 1:45 p.m. in the first floor boardroom at 809 N. Broadway.
