MPTV premieres "Pioneers of Television" in January
Milwaukee's Boettcher Trinklein Productions has created a four-part series on the "Pioneers of Television," which premieres on Milwaukee Public Television in January.

John McGivern puts on a good show. I learned this last night when I participated as a live audience member as MPTV taped "A Midsummer Night McGivern" for later broadcast.

Traveling and eating with Todd English
My favorite shows combine travel and food; Burt Wolf is a favorite. New to public TV -- thanks to Boston's WGBH -- is "Food Trip with Todd English" and it has the right formula of around 65 percent travel and visiting fish markets and knife stores to 35 percent working in the kitchen.
