The two golf courses that put Wisconsin on the national golfing radar - Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits - are celebrating anniversaries this year. Blackwolf Run, site of the 1998 and 2012 U.S. Women's Open turns 25. Whistling Straits, site of the 2004, 2010 and 2015 PGA Championships and 2020 Ryder Cup, along with the 2007 U.S. Senior Open, turns 15. It's been an amazing ride (so far) for Kohler.

This summer, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center is hosting a dramatic and provocative new exhibit which examines the relationship of mankind to the natural world around us. Curators hope that "Uncommon Ground" - which features five multisensory "landscapes" or installations by different artists - will create a dialogue about society and its environmental impact.

The bowling alleys are long gone, but the loss has never affected the popularity of The Horse & Plow pub in The American Club at Kohler. The subterranean pub and grille was especially bustling during a recent Tuesday visit as the lunch service drew a mix of locals, resort guests and - because the weather was good - golfers to the eatery, which recently got a bit of a facelift.

Brewers Director of Alumni Relations and FOX Sports Wisconsin broadcaster Davey Nelson will host his Fifth Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, on June 24.

Chef Paul Smitala's 90-minute cooking classes, held in the banquet room at Blackwolf Run Restaurant in Kohler, where Smitala runs the kitchen, teaches kids kitchen basics and, despite the fact that the students range in age from 6 to 9 years old, Smitala doesn't have them cutting corners.
