Road to the LPGA Tour now winds through Milwaukee

Wisconsin has supported women's golf in big numbers during two U.S. Women's Opens at Blackwolf Run, and now the state, and the city of Milwaukee, have a chance to watch the future of the game as the LPGA Tour's feeder circuit, the Symetra Tour, comes to Brown Deer Park Golf Course this summer.

Milwaukee hasn't had a regular pro golf tour stop since the PGA Tour's U.S. Bank Championship folded its tent in 2009. That is changing, as Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is helping bring the Symetra Tour, the feeder tour of the LPGA Tour, to Brown Deer Park Golf Course this summer.

Water St. It's always 72 degrees, you can play three dozen different courses or just practice. And, like any other round, grab a cold one after while you watch the game. When it snows and the wind whips, there's fewer places better to be.

Sunday was a great sports television day, but not because of the NFL games or because of golf or surfing or college football or NASCAR. It was a great day because of the International Skating Union broadcast from Skate Canada, featuring what I think is the most beautiful athletic competition around with the best color commentators on TV.
