What is known is that Doug Melvin will not be back for a 14th season as the team's top decision-maker. The process officially began this week of moving Melvin into an advisory role. Tired of the Brewers losing? Get used to it for a while

In terms of the Brewers' future, wins and losses don't matter right now. The Brewers are currently on a five-game losing streak after getting swept at Miller Park in a four-game series with the Chicago Cubs. Milwaukee has a 2-10 record since July 22, and more than half of those losses came while still employing Carlos Gomez and Gerardo Parra. Don't expect it to get any better either.

Brewers deal (mostly) successfully before trade deadline

When the week began, the Milwaukee Brewers had a losing team and a below-average farm system. As the trade deadline expired Friday afternoon, the Brewers succeeded in improving the future of the franchise at the expense of even more losses this season. But that was exactly what needed to happen.
