Zilber announces his big-picture plans for Pabst site
Joseph J. Zilber, founder and chairman of Zilber Ltd. Real estate company, announced Wednesday that he had completed the purchase of the former Pabst Brewery site -- the controversial 21 acres of currently unused space on the edge of Downtown.

This Sucks: We want Downtown movies!
Just look at any old photo of Downtown Milwaukee and you'll see a downtown strip lined with movie houses. These days, the closest "Downtown movie theater" is the Oriental or Prospect Mall Cinema, both of which are by no means Downtown. Brew City needs a Downtown cinema.

East Side explores arts incubator idea
The East Side B.I.D. has applied for a grant from the State of Wisconsin to study the feasibility of creating an arts incubator for the East Side, according to Jim Plaisted, executive director of the East Side Business Improvement District #20.

New East Side signboards: information centers or eye candy?
Inspired by Art Nouveau Paris Metro stops, Milwaukee artist Tom Wilson created the intricate, eight-sided kiosk that was installed in front of Hooligan's last year. Wilson has since designed nine, two-sided signboards, all of which will be erected in the North/Farwell/Prospect area of the East Side.
