Milwaukee Zine Fest celebrates DIY publishing
The Milwaukee Zine Fest returns for a second year, but this time, it's at The Polish Falcon's Nest, 801 E. Clarke St., on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Chicago-based cultural critic Anne Elizabeth Moore will teach a free workshop at the event. What the hell is a zine, you ask? Read on.

Punk Planet benefit reiterates the importance of independent press
With its distributor experiencing financial woes, Punk Planet magazine -- the 12-year-old independent music, culture and politics publication based in Chicago -- might be facing an uncertain future. To rally support, the "Punk Planet Benefit Show" brings six bands to Mad Planet on Saturday, May 6.
