It's the middle of cold and flu season in Milwaukee and the editorial staff is operating at fever pitch. This week's batch of "stuff we really like right now" is an eclectic mix of very cool music from very different genres, an entertaining group of Japanese kids movies, a spectacular time-wasting Web site, a fun corner-bar and diversion and a delicious sandwich from a local restaurant (Cubanitas, pictured).

Grassel gives "Compulsion" another chance
When the subject of Andrew Hill's 1966 "Compulsion" came up, Grassel told me he was disappointed by it and seemed unsurprised that Blue Note hadn't seen fit to reissue it. So, when that reissue did arrive on March 20, I sent a copy to Grassel, who vowed to give it another chance and share his thoughts.

Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
