The game of golf is losing more players than it's gaining, and one of the primary complaints is that in today's fast-paced world, it simply takes too long to play. One way to get your fix is to just play nine holes. It's an idea the Milwaukee County courses, and even golf's governing bodies, are promoting.

Wisconsin Club Country Club to undergo renovation
One of the city's, if not the state's, top golf courses will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation beginning next month. The Wisconsin Club Board of Directors approved a $3.5 million makeover of its private Country Club, located at at 6200 W. Good Hope Rd., by renowned architect Bruce Hepner.

Golf's most competitive major? The PGA
The top 100 players included in the Official World Golf Rankings committed to play in the PGA Championship this week at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky, marking the first time that many of the world's best will tee it up at one tournament. It solidifies the year's last major as its most competitive.
