MPM's Sci-Fi Film Fest finds a way, roars to life with "Jurassic Park"
At the end of the month, the Milwaukee Public Museum will celebrate the fall - as well as its current "Alien Worlds and Androids" exhibit - with a Sci-Fi Film Fest. Every Thursday and Saturday (save for Thanksgiving) from Oct. 23 through Nov. 29, the museum will screen a sci-fi flick in the Dome Theater.

Upcoming food events showcase vanilla, cider, pigs and soup

A chat with director and Milwaukee Film Festival honoree Debra Granik
Before "Winter's Bone," Jennifer Lawrence was an aspiring actress with a couple of little-seen indie credits and a running TV gig on "The Bill Engvall Show." After "Winter's Bone," she was one of the hottest names in the business. Of course, much of that is because Lawrence is a talented actress, but on some level, she has writer-director Debra Granik to thank.

Melinda Myers' checklist for fall garden and landscape care
You can see and feel the change of seasons. Fall color is starting to appear. Pansies, mums and asters are in the garden center, and your thoughts are turning to preparing your landscape for winter.

Freeman, formerly of Ween, finds his way back to himself
It's been a turbulent few years for Aaron Freeman, more commonly known as Gene Ween from the band Ween. After much self-repair, however, the musician is himself again - literally - recording and performing as the lead in his new band, fittingly titled Freeman. The band has a new album, along with a tour stopping at Turner Hall Ballroom. Before then, OnMilwaukee.com chatted with Freeman about the road to recovery, music and himself.
