Have you heard about the town in Florida built by the founder of Domino's.  The town is completely Christian and run based on Catholic values.  They are asking stores not to sell contraceptives.

As a Catholic myself, I think this concept is almost like a cult and wonder how the children growing up will deal with the "real world" when they venture out.

What do you think about this town concept?

It sounds a lot like other types of communes, Amish, Mormon, etc. Kids are exposed to so much info' nowadays, they will eventually form their own opinions, and do as they chose. I do think, however, too much `shelter' and the lack of knowledge, can be,and usually is, a dangerous thing.

Blogging is a way of expressing your opinions and views. I did not attack anyone - you did and have on other posts.

Might I suggest reading these blogs in the evening, after a glass of wine or cocktail - then, you might be able to let your knickers untwist.

I don't think I did. You referenced the molestation scandal to support your uneasiness with the Catholic Community in FL. You are grouping those involved with the scandal to all Catholics. That is exactly the same as calling all Germans Nazis.

You also described your distain for Catholic views, but also claim your tolerance: I support a woman's right to choose, I support the right to treat people respectfully - regardless of your religion, sexual orientation, color or gender - something the "Catholic Church" obviously has a problem with.

Later, you mentioned, To get respect you have to earn it. . .

Your lack of consistency is blatant. In one breath you spout your tolerance and respect for all people, but in your next, you slam the entire institution. It appears that your disdain for Ave Maria comes from your prejudice toward Catholicism.

You are using the molestation scandal and your opposition to Catholic morality to condemn Ave Maria. Thats fine, and probably a popular opinion, but using a holier-than-though attitude to publicly attack a group of people is going to illicit critical response.

Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
