Aladdin - Veggie Paradise at the Milwaukee Public Market

This review is a long time coming. I have been enjoying Azmi Alaeddin’s food for many years. It use to be my food oasis at Summerfest, however, Summerfest no longer has this delectable choice on the festival grounds.

But, fear not, all you have to do is go to the Milwaukee Public Market to sample what seems to be the most prolific and wonderful vegan and vegetarian menu choices around.

The deli is filled with choices for the corpse-munchers and vegans. On a recent trip I took home a pound of the most delicious giant beans in a flavorful tomato sauce. Yum, that was good!

Aladdin’s has recently added a Pita Bar. Many delicious choices plus a couple build your own sandwiches. On this trip I ordered the #2, listed as a fried vegetable sandwich. I had the tasty ingredients on a whole wheat pita, which was soft and perfectly chewy. It comes with baba ghanouj, tabouleh, falafel, roasted cauliflower, eggplant, potatoes, and thin slices of cucumber and tomatoes. Wow! Flavorful, satisfying and sent my taste buds on a happy ride.

So please do yourself a  flavor-favor and get down to the Milwaukee Public Market and say hi to all the wonderful people at Aladdin. And of course visit and purchase items from all the other special local establishments. Support your taste buds while supporting local businesses. Thank you and take care. See you around town.
