I believe I need to preface my picks with the answer to the question:  why do we care what you think?  The answer being that I LOVE food and going out to eat.  Not only do I work in the restaurant industry, but I spend all of my money in it.  I am a self-proclaimed dining expert and just wanted to share some of my ideas...

Best Pizza: Pizza Man

Best Sandwich: Hooligans

Best Salads: Lake Park Bistro

Best New Restaurant: Smyth

Best Patio: Barnacle Buds

Best Late Night Drunk Eats: Pizza Shuttle

Best Local Fast Food: Sobelmans Tall Grass

Best Hidden Gem: La Merenda

Best Steak: Mason Street Grill

Best Brunch: The Knick

Best Bar Food:  Branded

Best Service: Carnevor

 .....What do you think??

Pizza man and Lisa's is thicker than Zaffiro's. If you want cracker thin Zaffiro's is the place to go.

OK... I agree with most of your choices but I have a real problem I need your help with. I grew up in Milwaukee but now I live in New York. Whenever I come back to visit I always eat at Zaffiro's. Growing up I always ate at Peppi's (sadly gone now and no-one remembers them--somewhere off Forest Home in the deep South side)...anyway...I used to live above Pizza Man for years and would order from them but never really put a lot of thought into what I was eating.

Blah, blah, blah...my point is I want to try new pizza places but I don't want to be disappointed because my visits also involve meals at Coerper's, Kopp's, Smyth, Comet, George Webb's, Alterra, Honeypie, etc. so a bad pizza choice good break my heart. What makes Pizza Man (or Lisa's) different than Zaffiro's...will I still get my cracker thin crust I can't find on the East Coast?

Reader poll
Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
