I am from the great state of Michigan and am proud of my roots. I travel home every now and again during the holidays and at random times in the year. This last trip home to a little spot just outside of Detroit, was a little funny.

I expected the usual family stuff. Why do you live so far from home?, When are you going to settle down?, How is the art thing going? But when a family friend found out where I was living, He asked me to bring him back some cheese. I laughed, but he was for real. What do I know about cheese? He gave me a list of cheeses he likes, weird. Then my mom asked if I would bring her back some. Just a variety, she didn't really care what type. I guess I am the new Detroit cheese connection. I don't ask for a car from the people in the motor city, why do they ask me for cheese? I guess if you have lemons make lemonade. I find this whole situation rather funny. Me buying a trunk full of cheese and heading back to Michigan for the Winter Holidays. I hope this does not become a habit of family friends. So, I will make my first trip to the Mars Cheese Castle sometime in December. I don't mind, I think it might be kind of fun, in a very strange way.

Thank You for allowing me to share this rather interesting part of my life.

IF you can make a person happy with a wheel of cheese, do it.
