Summer in Milwaukee brings about an endless supply of Brats, Brewers and Bars.  There are crowds of people waiting in line to get into the various establishments Milwaukee offers to dance or simply chat before the doors close and the alcohol stops flowing.  What happens though when 2:30am comes along?  Do they all go to their respective homes, or to friends houses for round two?  I have been to my fair share of after-parties, but I wanted to see what would happen if I stayed until everyone else went "home."

On Friday night, I worked until about 3am at which point the typical question of "where's the party at" came up amongst the crowd of friends we had left in the pub.  Once we closed up shop, a couple of cars headed to my buddies house which happens to be the most amazing bachelor pad a man (or woman) could wish for.  After climbing a couple flights of stairs I arrived to a 3,000 square foot dream home consisting of ping pong, air hockey, pool, billiards, an antique pinball machine and, of course, plenty of liquor and beer.

The party rolled on until the wonderful hour of 6:30am at which point many people had trickled out and those of us left standing headed to Zads, a wonderful little gem of a bar that opens at 6:00am every day.  I had heard of people going to Zads after partying all night, but never imagined I would make it there to see the excitement!  It was pretty much what I imagined; third shifters, a pool table, some "entertainment only" gambling machines and enough rounds of bar dice to keep everyones shot glasses full.  The bar owner is one of the nicest people I have met and he is always willing to get you pizza, snacks and water to help wash down your beer.

I was very proud that I made it until 11:00am when everyone went home, but I think my liver and my sleep schedule were insanely angry with me.  I must admit I had a good time and interesting conversations, but don't think I could ever try making this a regular event!

In case you are wondering what toll this took, I slept until I had to work again on Saturday night!

-Til next time!

Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
