Last night I was racking my brain trying to think of a place here in Milwaukee that resembled this place that I loved in DC called Tryst. I need help trying to find something similar here.
Tryst was a bar/coffeehouse, where they had both sofas/big chairs to lounge on, with coffee tables in the middle. They also had regular tables too that could seat as few as two and as large as 8, and a decent bar for people to sit at too. Wait staff was very attentive, if you where lounging in the sofa for hours reading a book/surfing the web, you could get just a simple coffee/beer/muffin all the way up to an amazing 3 course meal.
Is there anything like that here in Milwaukee that I have not yet discovered?

Hello - I grew up in Milwaukee but just spent the last six months in DC - Tryst is great and I dont know if Milwaukee duplicates it (esp cuz Im not living there right now, I cant be as helpful), but here are a few attempts ...
-One Way Cafe on Underwood Ave in Tosa is great. try it!
-Have you tried Brewed Awakenings on Brady St - Ive never been, but it looks like it has potential
-Rochambo (also on brady) is a big time standby for hanging out coffehouse style in Milwaukee - havent been in years though
- during weekdays, Cafe Hollander will let you sit and relax and order snacks or a meal along with great coffees and beers
- also - I would definitely try out the Bay View neighborhood - over there on Kinnickinic - it seems like that neighborhood would breed places like Tryst .
Enjoy!!
