So, I won that scooter in the blogging contest a few weeks ago. I don't have kids, however I have some friends that do have kids, however none of my friends have kids that are 7ish yet. So I asked around at work if anyone needed a scooter right after I won it, and they were like, "nah".
So I hung on to it, just trying to figure out what to do with it, and I was talking to one friend mine right before thanksgiving and she was telling me how they don't have much money to get toys for their daughter, who is still just a baby.
Then just this past Tuesday one of my co-workers came in and said, "Do you still have the scooter? My husband backed over my daughter's by accident this morning. I'll buy you lunch or something in exchange." I got to thinking.. and I said to her, "Do you have any baby toys?" Turns out she had tons, since she hates having rummage sales.
So, yesterday I brought the scooter into work, and in exchange got a leapfrog toy, as well as this Playskool Noah's Ark. When I brought over the toys to my friend's she was happy to have them, since their daughter is growing out of her baby toys.
It felt good to play santa's elf..

it's great what she did.
bragging about it in public, though, is a bit disingenuous.
anyway, the wink at the end of my post meant i was only poking good natured fun at joscasta.

Don't listen to that talkbacker, you should pat yourself on the back. You helped two people who needed something and no one spent a dime. That's fabulous.

Hey,
Congratulations on winning the scooter. I wish I would have know about the contest. Although I can't say that you got a bad deal with the playskool arc either. Seems like Lots of people are into playskool for this season.
