Ellie:

A friend brought it to my attention that I seem like less of a sports fan and more of a teeny bopper from my first post.  If there was a Peyton Manning version of Tiger Beat, I would definitely subscribe, I must add that I do love the game of football outside of my love for Peyton.  So I am taking a moment away from the storm of the AFC championship game to explain my fandom. Growing up in East Tennessee, Volunteer football is ingrained in you from a very young age.  Only recently (especially in this BCS era) have I changed my primary football allegiance from college to the NFL.

I love this game and all its intricacies.  I respect a beautiful pass and an exceptional block that opens up the field for a stealthy running back.  I love when a linebacker gets through for a mindblowing sack, stifling a promising drive. And I really love learning about all the prep work it takes to design these seemingly easy plays.  I can definitely sit down and watch the Niners play the Lions and find it interesting.

With that said, I certainly am a partisan girl.  I can respect and admire the play of teams, as long as they aren't playing MY team.  Calls never seem as fair and good plays always seem to be great plays when my team (be it NCAA basketball, MLB or NFL) is on the field/court.
