Want to make yourself useful this winter? Read This...

Ok, So do you know the story of John Henry? The one with the folkoric hero who beat a shoveling machine with his brawn and enduring human spirt?

Well, you can emulate that dude without the tragic consequences this winter and fly your green card in the process... well depending who you are.

How?

With all this snow and and the ability to shovel, do you have to ask?

Snow shoveling is almost as green as it gets as; it's A. Good for you B. it's healthier for air quality than a snow blower, (or "thrower" as retail chains are now calling them) C. It's nice to do for a neighbor orelderly person that may need a helping hand. D. You could make some scratch with that hard work.

So grab your shovel and start shoveling, shucks, check the link below there is even a demand for it... Apparently you can make around $32,000 shoveling snow according to Simply Hired.

So just don't site there reading all day, get out there and help make a Greener Milwaukee today.

It probably takes more energy to produce the calories that fuel the person shoveling than the snowblower itself. I'm taking an extra long shower tonight because of this blog.

I recycle, turn off used lights, ride the bus as much as possible, and drive an economy car so I am in your corner for being "green". But until large countries like China, India, and Russia do more to curb their pollution emissions all of these little tips are fairly useless. If is makes you feel good that is great but my tire air pressure, using a snow blower, not spinning my tires, etc... are all just a small drop in the bucket to the output of a coal burning power plant that can put out more pollution in one hour then I could ever create in a life time. And as far as making $32,000 shoveling? Give me a break. Not to mention that link would guide you to jobs that use snow removing machines like plows, bobcats, and snow blowers. Maybe I could cut grass with an old fashioned lawnmower and make another $32,000 too! Make $64,000 and help Good Mother Earth! Get you head out the sand hippie and join the real world.
