I moseyed into Henry's off of Downer the other night for what I had heard was an amazing burger. I must say, I was not unimpressed after I had it "kicked-up" with extra spices and kick. So, officially, I recommend Henry's Bar and Grille.

But this is not the point of my story. My friends and I found ourselves watching Jeopardy during dinner. It was the typical Jeopardy experience, not knowing any answers, and laughing at the people on tv who did. I thoroughly enjoyed watching a game show at a bar/grill type place. After Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune came on for about 10 minutes, and then was switched to the Bucks Game.

I am as big a Bucks fan as the next person, but I found myself longing for cheesy jokes and age-old theme songs.

Could this be the wave of the future? I mean, if you get enough people together at a bar, who like good beer and fun shows, it has the potential to be quite a hangout. Cultish, yes? Innovative, Yes? Wierd, a little? Cash cow, who knows?

So come on Milwaukee bar owners, forget the run-of-the-mill sports bar and open a game show bar. I think it's about time we get creative with our socializing. Just think of the drinking games that could ensue?

I know i'd stop in a few times per month.

No such phrase as "off of", it's a double preposition.

Why not have a game show bar? People used to go to bars to watch Seinfeld back in the day and that was wildly successful.

First off, sweet stach.

I think that is just plain silly. Why would you want to pay for drinks in a bar and watch gameshows when you can make your own beer? Its not like your living room is that terrible!

I think the gameshow bar could work. My college hangout bar in Dilworth, Minnesota is a complete dive and the average patron is 45, divorced and an alcoholic. However, even my preppier college friends loved going there. Every night, Wheel of Fortune is turned on and the jukebox is turned down. Whoever yells out the puzzle answer first gets a drink on the house. People love it, young or old. It actually makes you use your brain a little and who doesn't like getting approximately 8 chances in a half hour to win a free beer?

The bar also does something else great for regulars. If you want, you can put your name on a list which assigns you a number. That number is then placed on a poker chip and put in a big jar. There is a notebook that sits on the bar and when you come in that day, you sign your name. At the end of the night, the bartender draws a poker chip and if it's your chip and you were in that day, you get a free bar tab. The tab works kind of like the powerball in that every time there isn't a winner; it goes up by $1 for the next day. It often gets up to $60-70 before someone wins. Then, the tab starts back at $20. People love it and it's an ingenious marketing tool. Patrons will often stop in to have just one drink so they can sign up. As a result, the bar makes at least a $1 off of each person and yet the bar only adds $1 to the pot each day.

The bar will always be one of my favorites and I now even have a bar booth from there in my living room to remember it by. I built the owner a quick Website if anyone wants to check it out. It's jcscorral.com

Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
