Tickets! Tickets! Get your Tickets here!

Last night was opening night of Damn Yankees at the Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove.  The musical by Douglass Wallop and George Abbott;
Music, with lyrics by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler runs July 11-13, 17-20, 24-27, 31- August 3, 2008.  Tickets are $20.00.

This musical is funny, delightful - with excellent acting.  The set and costumes are outstanding.

All of the characters are perfectly matched with the performers, but a special mention should be made for William Jackson who plays Mr. Applegate.  His presence on stage is prominent and commanding.

Young Joe Hardy, played by David Finley, will warm your heart with his "boyish charm".

The children's ensemble has children 12 and under in the performance.  If you have young children, it is always nice to take them to shows with their peers. Mine is 11 -  he thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Other than a slightly suggestive dance by Lola "Whatever Lola Wants".  Lola is played by Samantha Deibler, whom is a recent graduate from Milwaukee High School of the Arts dance department.  The dance was "suggestive" as a High School Student can get.  (I am making mention of this for any stiffly conventional potential patrons.)

This musical is fast-paced, humorous and entertaining for an audience of all ages.  You do not need to be a sports fan (I'm not) to enjoy!

***Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race. As Joe helps create a winning team, he realizes the true worth of the life he's left behind. The catchy score is filled with rousing production numbers and popular favorites like "Heart" and "Whatever Lola Wants.”
