I read several positive reviews on onmilwaukee.com about Edgar's Calypso on Water, so I decided to give it a try.I took my husband out for dinner thinking this would be a great choice for a new place we haven't tried yet. This was not the case.The food was sub-par, the tostones were dry and not flavorful, the chips and salsa were good, but expensive, the drinks were good, but the signs posted everywhere about the "you pick Happy Hour: 2 for 1 deal" did not say that it only applied at the bar, NOT when you are there to eat dinner. I felt that was false advertising on their part, but the bar tender refused to give us the deal when we called her on it.AND I just saw an ad for this very drink special in Milwaukee Magazine, and their lame stipulation is nowhere to be found.Atmosphere is weird, too busy for my taste, some of the diningroom tables & chairs were literally falling apart, but our waitress was nice.If you want great caribbean food and drink in a posh but unpretentious atmosphere, don't waste your money at Edgar's, go to Bosley's on Brady instead. Better food & venue about the same $$, and no Tom-Foolery on the drink specials!
