In July 2008 I reported that Dave & Buster's, founded in 1982 and headquartered in Dallas, is bringing its high-energy restaurant / entertainment concept to the Milwaukee-area.
Today I learned from Dave & Buster's corporate office that its new location, 2201-2215 N. Mayfair Rd. -- a one-acre strip between the former Ewald auto dealership and the DSW building -- is targeting a March 3 opening.
D&B's operates 55 locations in the United States, including two in Chicagoland. This location, blocks from Mayfair Mall, is the company's first in Wisconsin.
According to its Web site, Dave & Buster's has "a broad appeal for both single and married men and women as well as families. Dave & Buster's attracts casual plus dining customers that are fun-seekers and like to spend time with friends and family." It estimates average annual visits per store at more than 500,000.
The service was horrible, we had went early in hopes of getting dinner right away, then games. We waited over an hour just to get seated!! When we arrived the hostess said the wait should be less than 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, we went to ask how much longer, they just keep saying ten minutes or worse, "we can't give out that information" WTF? It wasn't until we starting noticing people who arrived after us being seated that we asked again. Supposedly, they called us, but our buzzer never went off? Why are there three people hosting anyway? If we knew it was going to take so long, we could've chosen to go somewhere else instead of wait. The food was just average and not worth the high price. only thing that was good was the games, which were also pricey.
HORRIBLY RUN! I sat down at the bar w/ two friends and we were ignored for about 10 minutes despite the bar not being busy at all. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table despite most of the dining area having available seating/open tables. I don't know if they were understaffed or what. After 35 minutes, I asked how long the wait was for our reservation and was told another 15-20 minutes. I won't be back and will be sharing my experience anytime the topic comes up.

Went there last night...let's just say I predict a shooting there within the month. Who on earth approved this for Wauwatosa?
Went here last night and thought it was terrible. Kids running around, terrible service, valet took 15 minutes. They really planned poorly for the space that they have. Definately not an 'adult' arcade! Most games were kids games! Will NOT be back
I kept seeing the commercials of this place and was very dis appointed when I found out we didnt have one in this area.I went to their website and they dont even have this location listed there so I didnt know about it.I heard from someone that they passed the sign a few weeks ago.Well anyway my birthday is March 10th and hope it will be open by that weekend. And now that I know that it will be 21+ after 9pm,we will go after that time.Have to admit I hate trying to have fun when there are lots of kids running around. It seems like they are always underfoot, doesnt it??Bumping into them constantly.....
