The Mighty Lumberhorn
Description:
The Mighty Lumberhorn is one of those rare bands that can play a church picnic in the afternoon and then go rock a roadhouse full of bikers all night. The sound ranges from Stanley Brothers' high-lonesome to Motorhead at a hoedown and the subject matter covers everything from a traditional tune praising the culinary aspects of groundhog to Jesus and kinfolk, an original ode to modern day outlaw Tupac Shakur and sweet, merciful death. Still, they manage to keep it fun.
Names of band members:
BJ McCrow: lumberhorn, bass, vocals; Boy Howdy: Banjo, vocals; Heather: Fiddle, vocals; Jeffro: American Tourister Drum Kit
Style:
Country rock, Country
Influences:
We play anything from 45 minute openers to 3 set bar closers. A typical set is tailored to the venue and crowd, but will usually include a quarter to half originals and the rest are Bluegrass/Americana standards and obscurities and a few popular tunes you didn't recognize with a banjo.
