52 Pick-Up

Description:
Attending a 52 Pick-Up show could be compared to the classic deceiving card game. Remember the first time someone asked you to play fifty-two pick-up and you agreed right away thinking it'll be a nice card game to pass the time, but then you are left suprised when your cards are strewn all over the floor leaving you to put them back in order? 52 pick-Up at first might appear to be a bunch of typical kids from the suburbs, until they throw their aggressive, yet melodic street punk sound in your face.

52 Pick-Up was started out of suburban angst by 4 friends with a love for punk rock when they were sophmores in high school. The band has stuck together all through high school they are now college students, however, they continue to write new material and play shows as much as possible. While pop-punk bands continue to dominate the punk scene, 52 keeps their traditional fast paced punk style and technical composition. 52 Pick-Up could best be described as a modern mix of melodic street punk with some rockabilly influences. Now if that is difficult to imagine, some of the band's main influences are Rancid, Strung-Out, Dropkick Murphey's, Pennywise, Propagandhi, Anti-Flag and many other bands outside of the punk genre that add to their mixed up sound. Their lyrics reflect their positive beliefs and values that they hold and live by; many of these ideas expressed come from issues occuring in our society. Now, if you're thinking that 52 is another punk rock band trying to force their extreme ideas on you, don't worry, their main focus is still to have fun and to continue writing and playing the music that they love.

52 Pick-Up has played as many shows in the Milwaukee area as possible over the past four years, opening for bands such as The Swingin' Utters, The Briefs, Vice Squad, Digger, Hangnail and many of Milwaukee's best local bands. They are determined and ready to do what it takes to bring 52 to the next level, and expose their music to the masses.
