Ian Gould

Description:
Ian, a recent immigrant from Belfast, Northern Ireland, began his musical career as a kid playing in bands throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe. He won’t deny the fact that there were times that he literally sang for his supper!

Some things have changed; Ian is now a singer/song writer and has been professionally recording and performing internationally for nearly 15 years. To name a few places, he has performed from Moscow to Manhattan, London to Los Angeles and Barcelona to Berlin. He has been living in the U.S. since January of 2001, and is currently performing as a solo artist, as well as a member of a new Milwaukee-based Celtic band, TARA. (He recently left The Orphans of which he was a member of for four years as well as half of the duo, "Gould & Patrick.") Ian’s music includes traditional Irish/Celtic music, Celtic-connected music, original songs, and modern hits.

Ian has studied music and performing arts at: North Down and Ards College in Northern Ireland, Trinity College in London, Perth College in Scotland and continues to study and enhance his abilities in music. He has been a private student of both Joe Hubbard (U.K.) and Charlie Banacos (U.S) and continues to study in institutions including the Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Having worked with a variety of artists, Ian has toured as a bassist, an acoustic guitarist and as a vocalist and has performed on television, radio and live web casts. He has also played at some of the most well known and most prestigious venues like Melkweg in Amsterdam, Holland; Grosse Freiheit in Hamburg, Germany; House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois; and El Capitan in Los Angeles, California. Ian has performed at international festivals in Europe and the U.S. including: South by Southwest in Austin Texas; Irish Fest & Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Hogmanie Celebrations in Edinburgh, Scotland; and SWR3 Radio Festival in Ludwigburg, Germany.
