Soon you'll know all the Big Gig headliners. Today, Summerfest announced another Marcus Amphitheater country show: Keith Urban plays Friday, June 26. Counting Crows open the show.
Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster and the Marcus Amp box office Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. and are $62 (Red), $57 (Yellow), $47 (bench) and $27 (lawn). All tickets include Summerfest admission.
New Zealand's Urban has won two Grammys since kick-starting his career by moving to Nashville. He has had 10 No. 1 country hits, including "Somebody Like You," "Days Go By" and "Start A Band," a duet with Brad Paisley. His new disc, "Defying Gravity," is due March 31.
Counting Crows hasn't had a new studio disc since "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" was released a year ago. Presumably, they'll have some new material to share come June.
Summerfest 2009 takes place from noon until midnight June 25-July 5.

How is this a good idea? Counting Crows isn't country music and now CC fans have to pay WAY too much to see the band OPEN? Lame.

The Crows last CD came out last March. Not 2 years ago. They're still learning to play the songs live. Not a bad release at all.

New Material? Ha. Adam said that he was tapped out right after Saturday Nights/Sunday Mornings came out. I am pretty sure that they will be playing plenty of oldies with alternates!
