'09 River Rhythms lineup announced

You want your first official sign that summer is well on its way? We've got outdoor concert announcements.

The Westown Association has finalized its 2009 River Rhythms lineup, and it includes Greg Koch, Paul Cebar, and Brother. The free concert series in Pere Marquette Park (on Old World Third Street between Kilbourn and State Streets) kicks off June 10 at 6:30 p.m.

But there's more. For the first time in its 13-year span, River Rhythms is hosting a Battle of the Bands as part of Downtown Employee Appreciation Week events, on Wednesday, July 29.

The schedule:

June 10 -- Old Mil

Milwaukee's ultimate cover band will play the greatest hits and favorites to kickoff another exciting season of Milwaukee's fastest growing music series.

June 17 -- Sindoola
Enjoy an evening of live drummers and dancers and experience the sounds and rhythms of West Africa with this energetic band.

June 24 -- Skeleton Crew

This four-part trombone jazz band offers a traditional style with a distinctive half-twist. The sounds are sure to impress at Pere Marquette Park this summer!

July 1 -- Greg Koch
