Reckless Kelly rocks and rolls into Shank Hall on Wednesday.

Win tickets to see Reckless Kelly at Shank Hall

Austin, Texas roots rockers land at Shank Hall on Wednesday, April 14 for an 8 p.m. gig. You can win tickets to the show.

You may remember this quintet by the unexpected success of its disc, "Bulletproof," which nestled into Billboard's Top 200 albums chart and the top 25 country albums slate in the same publication.

Now, R. Kelly (sorry, couldn't help myself), is back with "Somewhere in Time," on Yep Roc Records. The disc is 12-song tribute to Idaho cowboy Pinto Bennett.

It's hard to decide whether or not Reckless Kelly (no relation to Wreckless Eric, note the spelling variations), is a country act with a tough as nails rock and roll rhythm section or a rock and roll band with some serious honky tonk twang.

Never you mind, because Reckless Kelly is a great live band and you can find out for yourself, by looking me up on Twitter and being the fifth person to start following me after this blog goes up.

Then, you're in like Flynn for the Shank Hall gig. And tell 'em I sent ya.

"Rider in the Rain" with the great Joe Ely is an incredibly awesome tune. I think this band is going places.
