Joshua Radin is coming back to Milwaukee, and that's a good thing.
The Cleveland native and good friend of Zach Braff ("Scrubs," "Garden State" "The Last Kiss"), has an Aug. 10 date at The Pabst Theater. Show time is 7:30 p.m. And, it's a Pabst "Lower Level Show," so only 622 tickets will be available. All seats are $15.
If you don't know Radin's music, you're probably not a "Scrubs" fan. His tunes "Winter," "Today," "Closer," "Don't Look Away" and "These Photographs" have all been used in the show. Braff directed the video for "Closer."
Radin played The Pabst on Oct. 16, 2006 as a member of the Hotel Café Tour that also featured the Cary Brothers, Matt Costa, The Weepies, Charlotte Martin and Miho Hatori (of Cibo Matto).
Even though he was slightly under the weather, his set was amazing. As I've written before, Radin's voice is, dare I say, beautiful. His latest four-song EP, "Unclear Sky," is one of the year's best (in my humble opinion): moving, emotional and flat-out good.
Featuring "Sky," a debut with his touring partner of earlier this year, Ingrid Michaelson, it's a preview to a new full-length release for later this year. Spend $2.99 on iTunes for nearly this 13 minutes of amazing music and you'll think you got a steal.
Radin will be joined by female alt-poppers Vanessa Carlton and Alexa Wilkinson.
