It's Tuesday again and that means that the OnMilwaukee.com/WMSE team brings you another edition of our weekly local music podcast. The week of March 13 promises a great selection of Milwaukee music, including tracks by Signaldrift, Fuzee, The Buskers and Alex Wilson.
If you like what you hear, you are in luck, as each band/artist is in fact playing a show somewhere in our fine city this St. Patrick's Day weekend.
We start out this week with a little power pop from Fuzee, who has a new album called "Shed" coming out on April 28. Unfortunately we don't have our hands on an advance copy, so you're getting "Rocks N' Stars" from the debut, "All Agog." You can bet, however, the band will play its new material this Saturday, March 17 when it takes to the Points East Pub, opening for The Pugilists.
Codebreaker hosts a CD release party for its latest, "Exiled," at The Mad Planet this Saturday evening, with guests Signaldrift and Bts.Wrkng. Neither OMC nor WMSE had a copy of "Exiled" at the time of this podcast, so we decided to grace your ears with a track from Signaldrift off his '03 release, "Compass."
The Buskers play a show with the Bryan Cherry band and Blonde on Blonde at the BBC this Friday, March 16 to celebrate the release of its new self-titled EP. If you're reading this on Tuesday, March 13 you can listen to The Buskers on WMSE's Local Live show at 8 p.m. If not, please enjoy "Apathy" on this podcast.
Local blues man Alex Wilson closes out this week's podcast with "Come Back Baby" off his brand new album, "Tell Me Why." You can see him Monday, March 19 -- and every Monday night -- at the Jackalope Lounj.
